Confrontation and Conflict

Written By Helena Barrington

Confrontation and conflict, as you know, are two different words. But often we don’t confront what we should because we want to avoid conflict at any cost. Too uncomfortable!

This is what I have learned in my 71 years on this earth:

You will never correct what you are unwilling to confront. Resist the urge to justify your personal words and actions thinking that it’s everyone else’s fault that you are not seeing the results you expect in your life. Look within. As someone once said, “We have seen the enemy, and he is US!!!” Self examination without God’s guidance can leave you to your own devices and questionable ways of thinking, and can really destroy you! But that same introspection with God’s guidance can cause victory and maturity to be your “besties”😊

As The Lord has said, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” [John 8:32] Truth, not as in intellectual knowledge, but in the biblical sense of the word, “intimacy” — an intimate encounter with Truth! “You shall intimately embrace Truth, and the Truth shall set you free.”
